Youth Job Readiness Program

Our Youth Job Readiness Program is designed to equip young individuals in middle school, high school, and those aged 18-24 with the skills and experiences they need to succeed in the workforce. We offer a variety of services to help youth find employment, build their resumes, and gain valuable references. Key components of our program include:

  • Port of Seattle Construction Certification: Youth participants have the opportunity to work at the Port of Seattle, where they can earn a certification in construction. This hands-on experience provides practical skills and a valuable credential for future job opportunities.

  • Employment Assistance: We help youth find suitable job placements that align with their interests and career goals. Our team provides guidance on job applications, interview preparation, and connecting with potential employers.

  • Resume Building: Our program offers workshops and one-on-one sessions to help youth create professional resumes that highlight their skills, experiences, and accomplishments. We ensure each participant has a polished resume ready to present to employers.

  • School and Community References: We assist youth in compiling a portfolio that includes reference letters from teachers, principals, coaches, and other community leaders. These references can significantly enhance their job applications and provide credible endorsements of their abilities, character, and work ethic, especially for those seeking their first job.

  • Paid Internships: We partner with companies and corporations to offer paid internships for participants as they exit school. These internships provide real-world experience, financial support, and valuable networking opportunities.

By participating in our Youth Job Readiness Program, young individuals gain the tools and support they need to enter the workforce confidently and successfully. Our comprehensive approach ensures they are well-prepared for their future careers, even if it's their first job experience.
